I support Branden in this issue. Except for The White Stripes. Replace that with a Best-Of CD by Faith No More.

Hmm.. so you dont like death metal... well most of my suggestions are out.

But yeah.. Thrice are really good at the moment. Wolfmother if you like a bit of Indie. Lacuna Coil, Nightwish for Gothic Rock. Opeth (Prog Death Metal, but not so much Screaming), their new album is good. Add me to MSN if you have it and i can send you some stuff?

    Something by Jamiroquai.

There are two types of people on the earth. Jamiroquai fans and closet Jamiroquai fans.

Lately I've been listening to Self Destructive Pattern by Spineshank a lot, I fucking love that CD. Bloodsimple's CD is pretty awesome too...forgot what it's called, but its their only one.

How would you prefer to try and learn to tolerate Slipknot's screams? I didn't like that kind of music to begin with as well, but after exposure to songs like, Vermilion, and The Nameless, hell I began to love them. Haha, My suggestions would be; Finger Eleven's second album ' Greyest Of Blue Skies', My Chemical Romance ain't that bad either, I enjoy both their albums. Also, Deftones' third album (I think) ' White Pony ' is great as well.

By the way, Todd, what is that countdown on your sig, all about?

    The Appleseed Cast - Peregrine

Two of the best albums ever made, IMO.

Mindless Self Indulgence - You'll Rebel to Anything
    The Rasmus - Dead Letters
    Muse - Origin of Symmetry
Rise Against - The Sufferer and the Witness
    Blur - Think Tank
    Three Days Grace - One-x
Head Automatica - Decadence or Popaganda. (Decadence, if you're into dancier music, Popaganda if you like catchier music)

This is a little off-topic, but for some reason last night I had this dream that I was at a soccer game, and for some reason Derek was there, even though it looked nothing like him, and I asked him "Hey Derek, what CDs did you end up getting?" and he said "Billy Joel's first record".

Derek, did you get Billy Joel's first record, because that would be really eerie.

I wouldn't go that far, but Peregrine is quite good.

It's counting down until the day that thing in our White House and his administration stop having their way with our country. Hopefully.

    Our chimpanzee president's last day.

Also, 2 more bands I recommend, that may not even be available at Best Buy since they're not really known, are Egypt Central (self titled) and Trigger Point - A Silent Protest. I bought both from iTunes, but whether or not they're at Best Buy, I've got no idea

I happen to own Trigger Point's "A Silent Protest". My parents bought it for me as a Christmas present last year and it is available at Best Buy. Really good album. I recommend it as well.

yeah, I'm a bit late, but you have cash.

I'm not sure if Best Buy would have them, but the first 3 pre-heroin pantera albums (Cowboys From Hell, Vulgar Display of Power and Far Beyond Driven) are amazing, and don't feature much of the heroinized screaming/whatever the fuck Bandruiner Anselmo is doing. if you're looking for minimal screaming, go for Cowboys from Hell. You probably won't like it at all, but whatever. :p

Well, If you get System of a Downs newer album, hypnotize, it has less screaming.

I guess I'm too late now but I just wanted to recommend some other bands that weren't metioned before...

Foo Fighter's In Your Honor is a pretty good album. That acoustic part of this record is worth a listen.

Since you like Coldplay, you might like Bloc Party too. I really like their song Two More Years. Their latest album is called Silent Alarm

You might like dEUS too but that's a Belgian band so they won't have their latest album at Best Buy, I think. It's called Pocket Revolution, maybe you'll find it because they toured in America...

[wordIcan'tpost] Distillers - All their albums are awesome. You probably know them already.
