Actually, NIN fans beat us. They waited five years for The Fragile.

Im kind of getting sick of the band not giving us any information. Almost every time that they have an interview, all they sat is: "Its really different", or something like that. I mean, would it really be so hard to give an album title, a track list, an album cover, maybe one of the songs that they decided not to put on the album. Okay, the last one might be harder, but it would be extremely easy to give us the first three. Also, it seems that they are pushing this album back again. Didnt they say early spring, or early 2007? Now were hearing May. Im just sick of them giving us no information, and false release dates (although a lot of the release dates have been given from sources other then the band themselves).

I just hope that the album is worth the wait, and that they dont take as long for the next CD.

Yeah, but I'm sure that they didn't say that their album was coming out soon two years before it did... :hmm:

No matter... it should be sick. Can't wait. But I'll have to.

I'm almost certain Rick didn't mean progressive as in progressive rock. I think he meant that it's progress in terms of the band's music, as their progressing their sound to something better, and not stating an actual genre.

I wouldn't be so sure. They've said they've been influenced by bands like Pink Floyd and King Crimson, both early progressive rock.

That doesn't necessarily mean that's the sound they're going to take on. I'm sure they're partly inspired by Metallica (Who the heck isn't?) but they sure as heck don't have any resemblances to Metallica, other than the fact that they've got some guitars and drums, really. I mean, heck, Chester said they were influenced by punk, but I doubt any song is going to sound punky. The only song that might have sounded that way was "QWERTY" but they changed it for the studio. Now it just sounds like another Linkin Park song.

i'm kind of tired of waiting, too, and am just about to give up and just say screw it until i hear a real release date. all this crap is driving me crazy so i try to forget about it as much as possible.

as far as giving us the album title and such, they may not even know the album title yet for all we know. they said they still hadn't made up their mind yet recently, so it may not be "that easy". the tracklisting wouldn't be that easy either since they said they may add some more songs after the mixing stage if they decide the should go on, so it's not really confirmed. i'm sure they could give us the names of the songs they're working on mixing right now though of course. that also hinders the album release date if they decide they want to add more, which is okay with me if they're still adding haha. we've waited nearly four years now, so it's not going to be too much longer.

like i said either be patient or try to forget about it until LPA or someone posts "LP Release Date & Album Title Announced!" lol. what a lovely day that will be though. can't wait, but yet i can....

Wishful thinking man . Like Musicphreke, I think I'm just going to try and forget about it all until the title and release date are officially, dead set announced.

 don't remind me. Strangely enough i find myself doing the same. But I'm definitely hoping the album will be awesome, I mean seeing as how we've heard this straight from Rick Rubin. Then I remind myself we'd be lucky to get it before my birthday at the current rate (29th June) >_<. But I guess you just have to think at least they are making a new album. It's not like LP owe us anything is it? They could easily just go and retire now...well except for Chester unfortunately .
