    VOLIMINAL : INSIDE THE NINE

To be released on December 5, 2006

Slipknot, the multi-platinum, Grammy-winning, hard rock enigma, will release the DVD VOLIMINAL: INSIDE THE NINE on December 5, 2006. A special double disc package, VOLIMINAL: INSIDE THE NINE takes the viewer on a long journey into the world of Slipknot as the band recently circled the globe in support of the multi-platinum album VOL. 3: (THE SUBLIMINAL VERSES). Far from your usual tour film, VOLIMINAL: INSIDE THE NINE is more of an art piece -- while fans are taken in the studio, on stage, backstage, on their tour bus and everywhere in between as they experience the energy of a band literally living, breathing and fighting for the music they created, none of it unfolds in ways you'd expect.

Disc 1, titled VOLIMINAL, features a 90-minute film, created and directed by M. Shawn Crahan that gives the Slipknot fan a window into the world of the band as seen through the mind of its creator. The film was shot on hand-held cameras and, as a result, is brutally honest and visually unique. The sound and visual edits are intense, disturbing and jarring while the cinematography brings the viewer as close as one can get to the band. Buried in Disc 1 are nine different “rabbit holes,” that, when activated, will show a short vignette of each one of the nine members of the band. Not the typical extra footage often found as “easter eggs” on the average DVD, this footage contains some of the most surprising and revealing elements on the DVD.

Disc 2 features three main elements – live footage, music videos and interviews with each member of the band. The live shows were captured at various venues around the world and show Slipknot in unique and somewhat unconventional settings. Everything from outdoor and daytime shows all the way to television award-show performances are included as well as the music videos for "Duality", "Vermilion," "Before I Forget," "The Nameless," and the controversial video for “Vermilion 2,” which was never officially released. Additionally, for the first time ever, fans get an up-close look at the band's “Death Masks” used onstage during this tour.

The interviews on this disc are just as ground breaking as anything the band has ever done. After twelve years, everything is about to change. Nothing is held back and everything is discussed.

Slipknot is the nine piece, ground breaking, hard rock band out of Des Moines, IA that has sold over 5 million albums in the U.S. on three studio albums. Their last studio album VOL. 3: (THE SUBLIMINAL VERSES) was released in May 2004, debuting at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart and has sold over 1.5 million copies in the U.S. to date. The album broke new ground for the band and spawned the hit singles “Duality,” “Vermilion” and “Before I Forget.” In November 2005 the band released SLIPKNOT 9.0: LIVE, a double live album that has sold over 350,000 copies in the U.S.

I used to love Slipknot, but their latest CD disappointed me.
I'm a huge fan of Stone Sour though.

This is very sweet. Also considering, that I am getting back into Slipknot. With just recently playing one of their CD's for the first time in a year or so.

Wasn't it the video for Vermillion that was never released? I've seen that online but never on TV. I've seen Vermillion Pt. 2 on TV a bunch, unless that's an alternate version or something.

Ahh well, doesn't matter. I'll probably be buying this.

I want to watch the video to see the interviews and stuff, because they seem like really weird people. I have only heard there new album, and some other songs (Surfacing, My Plague, Left Behind, People=Shit, Wait and Bleed). Can anyone tell me some of their other good songs, because they seem pretty good.

Vermilion which is the harder version was released and gets played loads over here, Vermilion part 2 which is the softer one was never released onto music channels because of it's controversial nature of what appears to be a body of a women just floating around like a plastic bag in the wind. It was a shit video anyway, I wish they made a better, more suitable video for pt.2 because it was the best song on the album IMO.

I despise slipknot and think anything they've ever done is crap.
    Especially the whole mask thing.
Each one represents soemthing or some shit?
    Just show your ugly face.

I thought the heavier version was Part 2. Unless I'm confusing Vermillion by Slipknot with The Leaving Song by AFI or something.

    *Edit* Yeah, ok you're right.

Volume 3 has a ton of good songs on it, but also check out Gently, New Abortion, Liberate, and No-Life.

Lol, ' a new dang cd? ' Well Corey Taylor is busy promoting Stone Sour's new album I'm pretty sure lol. Have some patience. 'Clown' is currently bringing up ideas for the new album, from what I remember.

Wow, Can't wait to get my hands on this dvd. Sounds awesome. Personally I think Slipknot are one of the few bands I can think of that does something new each time.

wow, i'm confused. you were the only one who said they didn't like slipknot. i just thought that lp fans didn't like slipknot or something because i read a post on a video of QWERTY on Youtube that said "slipknot fans not allowed to comment" or something along the lines of that. i thought it was because both bands are a bit similar, as they both have rap/rock elements.

corey said they might do another stone sour album before going back to slipknot. i sure as hell hope not. slipknot came out and said they're not working on anything this year. they said they will start writing in 2008 so patience is key.
