Eh, rankings are only good for beauty pageants and Nascar races :awesome:

Who cares where its at on Billboard, as long as it sounds good, then it shouldn't matter. There are plenty of artists out there that dont even chart on Billboard, and are waaaay better than the fuck ups on the top of the charts.

The catalyst was, pretty clearly, not designed to do well on the charts — it was designed to do well as a part of the album. I think isolating any part of this album and listening to JUST THAT will leave much to be desired - even if the song is very strong in its own right (As is the Catalyst)

I knew something was off. ;P I've been all, like, "so people like "The Catalyst"? It's getting a good response? Seriously? ..."

But, ah, no matter. :) I still like it.

Not surprising. The track just wasn't made to garner an incredible amount of success, add to the fact that it doesn't appease the "hardcoreLPFANZ",. Furthermore, fans of whom are willing to give their new sound a chance will take a while to accept the song.

Linkin Park even said that it was not a very radio-friendly song, so of course it's not going to be extremely high on the charts, although #20 isn't awful. Not a big deal, really.

The hardcore and not-so hardcore LP fans are a drop in a bucket of water compared to the causal fans and the radio junkies. I'm gonna go with Louis and say it's not a radio song.

I don't care about radio charts anyway.
