    In a blog post on his official blog, Mike Shinoda has posted the official single art for The Catalyst, allowing the fans the opportunity to see it before anybody else:

    While the meaning of the cover art has yet to be revealed, it is certainly a departure from the art style of previous Linkin Park releases, and it will be interesting to see where the band decides to go from here. Stay tuned to LPA for more updates!

    Update: After filtering the image extensively, our very own forum member Keaton has discovered something that closely resembles a human being, positioned inside of the circle itself. What/who is the hidden person in the artwork, and what could it signify? Discuss on our forums!

    Update #2:     It appears the same exact hidden image appears in 90% of the recentely released promo art. A big thank you goes out to AStarkson of the LPA for discovering this!

    Update #3: A different figure appears in the recently released album date poster. It appears to be Chester singing, although the image is not totally clear. A big thanks goes out again to AStarkson!

    I'm sort of asking myself "WTF" but i'm sure it will all make sense in time! It's already grown on me more since the first sentence of this post.

    I've been staring at this for a while...and it almost looks like a distorted sun with solar flares, if you look close enough. This is interesting.

    Same here. I wonder if there will be text in the final version stating the name of the song/artist? Or could this just be it?

    It doesn't really matter, we already know: Linkin Park - The Catalyst.....
    I'm sure it will though, otherwise people who are looking at music won't know anything about it.

    Very simple, yet interesting artwork. I think I love it! At first glance it sorta looks like a view of space from inside a space craft...but as Derek pointed out, it does looks like a sun! Like the solid black circle with the dots is the sun with a weird halo/corona around it :)

    Noooo. I'm just saying usually cover arts have text on them or at least a logo or something. I love how LP is so mysterious with this art.

    This is what I thought at first... Like an aerial image of a nuke being dropped? But I guess not. The more I stare at it the more I'm convinced that it's a planet and the black center is the core of the planet.

    No idea. Just excited.


    **Edit: I thought I saw something in the center of it, but didn't want to stretch it too far. Now that I look at it, I'd be willing to bet you guys are right about it being a lens.

    I did something similar. I see that too.

    Yeah. I am not so sure now.

    Oh right. I think they will add text and MAYBE logo. People need to be able to identify it.
