Just for the record, I've found out the lyrics "are we human, or are we denser?" not dancer/dancers. When you know that, the entire song suddenly makes 100% sense.
I've just given the song a few more listens, and I have to say, I hate it. Its the most generic, boring piece of music that the band has ever recorded, in my opinion, and I can not believe that this is the first single. Im still holding out hope for the album, but this is just terrible in my opinion. If I did not know that this was The Killers, I would never want to listen to this album.
Back when The Killers came out with "Somebody Told Me", I absolutely hated it. I still hate it to this day, except now I like the beat and it puts me in a real good mood. The lyrics? I cringe every time, lol. "Somebody Told Me" is a fun song but it's not really that great at all lyrically. "Human" seems like it's going in this direction. I don't know how you feel about "Somebody Told Me" but I'm just giving you an example from my end. My brother convinced me to check out more of their songs off of "Hot Fuss" when it was released and I was blown away at how the rest of the songs were so much better than "Somebody Told Me". I was sold. So basically what I am trying to say is: it's just one song. I'm sure the rest of the album will make up for it. If not, then we'll have a problem, lol.
That's how I was as well, Luckily "Mr. Brightside" convinced me to listen to Hot Fuss GREAT IDEA on my part. I still only like select songs on Sam's Town but Hot Fuss is a favorite album.
It took me MONTHS after it was released to accept Sam's Town. I now just appreciate it for what it is and I can say that I now love it. It's nowhere near as good as Hot Fuss but it's still pretty decent and I doubt they will ever match the success that Hot Fuss had. They don't really need to anyway, lol. It just so happens that their first album was so good that anything that follows up to it won't really stack up. I'm sure that has crossed their minds and they had to accept that and move on, lol. ...this is actually how I feel about Linkin Park as well. But anyway, I'm anxious to hear the new Killer's album. Anticipation!
I always liked Somebody Told Me, and honestly I think that this is the bands worst song. I dont know why, I just hate it. However, both Hot Fuss and Sams Town had their bad songs (Everything Will Be Alright, Enter/Exitlude), so hopefully this is not indicative of the rest of Day & Age. Oh, and I just wanted to say, why does everyone here hate Sams Town so much?
I liked Sam's Town more than Hot Fuss, personally. I thought Hot Fuss had it's moments where a few songs were better than all of Sam's Town but Sam's Town as a whole was better than Hot Fuss. If that makes any sense.
Official Day & Age tracklist was just revealed: Losing Touch Human Spaceman Joy Ride A Dustland Fairytale This Is Your Life I Can't Stay Neon Tiger The World We Live In Goodnight, Travel Well
The "Human" music video was released today on itunes. Brandon looks good but the video is too simple and boring. Thumbs down.
First off, I think that the video is meh. Anyway, on to some new news, the first review of Day and Age has been released, courtesy of musicradar. Its a track by track, similar to the ones we got before MTM: Oh wow, this sounds like it will be amazing. This has really gotten me excited for the album again. Cant wait.
I just finished reading the track by track review and now I really want the album to just leak already. I can't stand the anticipation anymore!
Q Magazine reviewed the album, and gave it 3/5 stars. Not too bad, they have Hot Fuss 3 as well, and Sams Town a 4. It will be interesting to see how this is recieved critically.
More reviews! This album seems to be getting a lot of praise, although the things that each review complains about are all different. Every reviewer seems to have a different opinion on it, but whatever, at least they're getting some good reviews. First off, heres the review from Clash Music: And heres one from Uncut magazine: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/hermia-jones/DayAndAgeEra/UncutAlbumReviewDec08.jpg Its a scan of the magazine, so I cant just copy and paste it onto here. Anyway, based on the reviews, so far this album will be awesome. Although, with so many advance copies going out, im wondering how soon this will leak. Also, the band have revealed their US tour (with one Canadian date in Toronto). The lack of a PA/NJ date annoys me so much. I will be buying tickets for my brother for the VA date though, but I unfortunately cannot go. Anyway, the reviews are great. The new album sounds very promising!
