Before, this song really was just a cool ballad, nothing more than that. But after the shit I went through after this girl just threw away everything we had, blamed me for it, and shut me out completely, this was one of the songs I listened to a lot. The lyrics on this song are perfect, and this whole song is Linkin Park really showing off what they do best.
Well, I've loved this song since the first listen but I'm also going through some really complicated relationship shit right now and I found that I've been playing this song way too often past few days. The lyrics of this song are amazing. Some of their best without a doubt. But what totally stands out are the vocals. Every time I hear chester almost belt out "Cause I don't have a reason" from the first verse, it almost makes me wanna just close my eyes and scream with him. Such powerful singing with so much emotion. It's one of the reasons I love this album in general. The vocals are so raw.
The same with how he half screams "The truth I couldn't speak" and "Cause I can't see forgiveness". The lyrics along with the vocal performance is just amazing. Cool story bro. Nice to see you coming here just cause you have another chance to spew hatred at this song. How nice.
I felt the same way when I first heard this song, except I did like it. I didn't know why I did, basically for the reasons in the OP. But that chorus is just so damn catchy. It makes me want to sing along, replacing every word in the chorus with "Na" (I know that sounds cheesy as hell but that's honestly how I feel ). Rob's drumming is just awesome too. That intro is fucking fantastic and gets me in the mood for the song every time so I never skip it. Idk it just feels like a song that should go down in history, one of those songs that you hear all the time on classic rock radio in 30 years. Lol the same thing happened to my best friend and when I first heard the lyrics to this song I immediately thought of him. It describes his situation so perfectly it makes me laugh. Does that make me a bad person?
At first I disliked it (when it premiered) but for some reason it has been my favorite LP ballad since. I really can't say why.
For a single although, FM is pretty cool, it's pretty accessible like BID or WID but it also has a soul unlike BID or WID.
Hold it right there, young lady...WID got no soul? The song itself is about moving on from your mistake.Live?Brad's solo is one of the things I look up most.
Definitely one of the best things that happened in the last time to theire live shows. Brad improve this song so much with this rock n rolly guitar playing.
