Honestly, from hearing him post certain specific things in the shoutbox, I'm pretty sure Robert is into such stuff. Sorry for squashing your dreams
I've never been a fan of it, it's just more 'What I've Done shit' as Mike Shinoda would put it, it's a decent song but it's been done to death a thousand times by other bands. It's just a very cliche song from a band who used to pride themselves on doing something a little unique, LP have fallen into the habit of making these easy/catchy/radio friendly tracks to create filler between the better songs on their albums.. I'm throwing this on the pile of What I've Done ripoffs next to I'll Be Gone and Until it's Gone (even the titles are similar, ugh)
At first I was not so fond to the song. As a matter of fact, when I learned that this song, along Until It's Gone, was being played in the setlist of The Carnivores tour I was upset because I felt there were better songs to play than those 2. I fell in love with Until It's Gone when I saw them play it live, I fell in love with the tempo and beat. To me, it felt like a very emotional song. Just simple as that. Final Masquerade, however, is that feeling times 100x. I just love the melody and the message it sends out to me. I feel like I get into the softer and more emotional songs during the Winter, only because I become closer to my loved ones and I just feel the strength of their music. Same thing happened to me during Waiting for The End, Valentine's Day, and I'll Be Gone. Mike has been quoted to say that this song is one of those songs that you would hear on the radio, but the band made this song to make that "genre" of music 100 times better, by adding their own flavor. So yes, this is a cliche song, but it works, and there is nothing wrong with that.
I love the song, but I still think that Chester sings too sharp in my opinion, as if he had swallowed 100 helium balloons xD
I think I'm one of these people haha I love this song, and I don't even know why. When I first heard it I thought it was boring, but after listening to it for a while it just grew on me and now I love it.
