I'd just like to say that I am terribly offended by swimsuits. I wish women would not wear them.

    She isn't wearing a swimsuit? o_O.

She's wearing a ripped black dress with lace panties.

    *EDIT*. OH KARIMA.

Well those arent official Eidos shots. They're just a 'racy' shoot she did for The Sun.

FIRST TOMB RAIDER LEGEND REVIEW SURFACES!

    FROM PSM APRIL 2006 ISSUE.

COVER STATES: "STOP WORRYING. ITS AMAZING."

    Final Score - 8.5

    HOT:
    Back To The Tombs
    Great Controls
    Great Story
    Fun New Features
    Pretty Visuals

    COLD:
Motorcycle levels could control better (Although there is only 2 parts that include this so..*shrugs*)
Lack of autosave (you must manually save at checkpoints)
Non-Tomb levels not as pretty as the Tombs

    ===
    My Thoughts:

Although it's no 10/10, I dont exactly trust PSM as it is because they praised True Crime: NY out the ass before it came out, and the game wound up being mediocre as hell.

Still, nothing about the the review was too negative (obviously as the dislikes are minor and borderline whatever) and anything over a 7 I never expected to see for a Tomb Raider game.

It also was slapped with a "Buy or Die" award so, looks like TR was in good hands.

More Details About The Mansion Surface

According to a leaked screenshot that has surfaced, Crystal Dynamics have made a complete (or at least decentely sized) recreation of the mansion featured in the in the first Tomb Raider movie..which you will all know as the Hatfield House. (http://www.hatfield-house.co.uk/pages.asp?p=1&h=1&n=1)

Lastly according to the Official Xbox Magazine review (8/10),

"The Croft mansion is it's own entire level filled with secrets, unlockables and a puzzle or two (or a hundred)."

    WORLD PREMIERE FIRST MANSION SHOT.

^^Compare it to the main hall of the first movie. It's 100% alike.

That's a brilliant idea to use the house from the movies and not the house from the first games ... :D The old man following you around totally freaked me out :p

    Oh, Winston? He's still there.

And its not the Hatfield House, I was wrong. They use that for the exterior I believe..but the inside is completely based off of the movies..with some rooms (i.e. the ones the movie didnt have) naturally added by artistic freedom.

    More Mansion Shots: http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=57038

    (Check the fireplace..winston is there.)

Yeah i can see him, good old winston, i just found out about his name actually :p

Tomb Raider 1 & 2 were the first 3d games i played i guess. I remember that i used to lock "winston" up inside the house and because of the poor graphics his plate with cups of thee on was sticking trough the door. I jumped on it and got fired up on top of the house :D that was so awesome ...

I remember I used to lock that guy up in the freezer.

Scared the shit out of me back in the day.

I had heard a rumor from a friend or another that if you lock him in there long enough, he'll eventually get out and open fire on ya. Silly rumor, but we had to try it. ^_^

OXM gave the game an 8/10.

I have to say, out of all the versions of the game, the PS2 version looks the worst. When I get my 360, I'm probably going to end up getting this game. Everyone's been praising it left and right, and I fucking hate Tomb Raider.

I still think it isn't going to live up to the hype. I think Derek and the other's who have been anticipating this game will be let down since they hold it on a high pedestal.

Magazines have said it has lived up to the hype. It's not perfect obviously since it only got a 8/10 in OXM, but the deal is..if you never enjoyed one TR game this game isn't out to change your mind. Instead this is for the people who really enjoyed the game but were greately disenchanted by how..unchanging the sequels were.

Personally, I might seem like I feel this game is amazing..but I'm the most skeptical of anyone. If gamespot gives it over an 8..I will breathe a sigh of relief and happily pick it up, but I wont be happy until I load up the mansion and see how well she controls and how fun the gameplay is.

And yes, the way the graphics go is like this

    PSP < PS2 < Xbox < Xbox 360 < PC

PC version looks a lot like the 360 when played on a very high spec computer, just with a little bit more sharpness on the graphics.

I'm happy you're planning to at least rent the game though Will. I see we've made a slight convert out of you :p.

With only two weeks away till Legend, EIDOS is almost releasing new shots daily. I present to you PC and 360 shots from near final builds of the game.

No matter if you like em or not, there is no denying that this is an incredible looking game. This game has come a long way graphically since the first shots leaked last May.

It also looks like the 360 (despite not being as powerful as a high end PC) might look a little better due to the filters involved on the 360.

In case anyone's interested, the Official UK PS2 magazine gave it 8/10, saying it was enjoyable but that it ends just as it gets going.
