I was thinking a vocal part that follows that octave guitar part when it drops out at 0:25, then gets quiet during that huge buildup. I really like that drop around 1:00. What do y'all think?

I love it. Are you going to be doing the vocals? If so, sing your heart out! Is the song going to continue from the synth at the end? You should add some keys and have it build up into a final chorus at that part.
