My friend pointed this out to me, and it seems a few people on here have been making that comparison too. That's the only thing that throws me off about this song. Almost enough to be disappointed, really. I love the beat, catchy as hell. Awesome guitar. Badass drums. And not that the melody of the chorus isn't catchy or awesome too, but it's just a bit underwhelming after hearing GATS' chorus.
Why? So you can get some sort of justification that ATS is the best record of LP and continue to go on saying its theirs best and bashing anyone who has a different opinion? I like ATS, but its not my favorite, and ATS elitists have become as bad as nu-metal fans
Funny enough, I wasn't sure if i was the only one thinking that. I started singing the chorus to Guilty All The Same and some how I ended up mixing it in with Wastelands without even thinking. The chorus for both songs are very much alike.
I link the song, but I noticed that the full album version is 3:15, so there is more to it than we have just seen, but most likely more extended instrument parts. Another thing I've noticed is the recurring themes already (probably going to make a thread after THP comes out) in the three songs we have. 1. Wastelands and GATS have very similar choruses. 2. The outro to Wastelands and UIG both have Chester saying the main line (In the Wastelands of today! / Until It's Gone!) twice and then screaming it the third time before an abrupt ending. Once again, the bridge (which is actually a different melody so kudos for giving us something else new, really adds to the song) has Chester singing with only synth for the first half of the chorus before the band rejoins. Really has become a staple in their biggest songs (WID,ND, BID, most others). This song leaves me excited for the energy of the album! I just hope the songs have variety.
With the rest of the song being so different from GATS, it's a little silly that the chorus dives right into the same structure. But Chester did deliver a more appealing performance on the Wastelands chorus then the one on GATS imo. GATS' chorus consisted of Chester somewhat-angrily-but-not-really shouting... The one for Wastelands feels a little more like he's singing, and even incorporates some screams and vocal intensity that was missing from GATS.

How so? Linkin Park said it was going to be a heavy album. UIG and Wastelands have heavy elements in it and GATS is heavy. It is what they have described so far. And RA only 3/12 of the album
When we will get the album version of the song? I am dying to hear those drums and screams in high quality.
Read my discussion from yesterday it is exactly what i said. I dont like ATS as much as the other albums and nobody accepts it
