Of course LP can be my chill music at times but when I want to just forget about everything I tend to sway towards folk music. I will listen to music such as Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Matt Costa, Zach Gill, Bob Marley, Joe Purdy, Sublime, The Beatles and much more. What tickles your pickle? I dont care if its Thrash metal to Lady Gaga, what makes you relax?
Iris, Paper Route, The Cure, Pearl Jam (Ten), Falling Up, Aqualung and others. I can chill to loads of stuff though, even heavy stuff. I chose to list the bands above because of their softer tones.
I'm really diggin almost everything everyone is posting. Ohh and I forgot about silverchair. Its been ages!
I was just looking @ your sig and that reminds me of my all time favorite song...... Jesus of Suburbia. I am in love with that song. Me and my fri9end were once @ a bar in Milwaukee, WI and it was on a juke box and we decided to be evil and put it on three times in a row. The reaction of the people in the bar was priceless. Ummm.... we got kicked out when we tried it again....
Most of the music i listen to is chill as fuck, but at the moment i'm listening to a lot of Autechre, Eluvium, Four Tet, Burial, Jaga Jazzist, The Album Leaf, Tim Hecker. And in the past i've listened to a lot of Boards Of Canada, Amon Tobin, Explosions In The Sky, Mogwai, Sigur Ros, God Is An Astronaut. Pink Floyd way back as well.
Circa Survive (Anything), Pink Floyd (Dark Side), The Beatles (Anything), Animals As Leaders, The Sound of Animals Fighting (Ocean & The Sun), Rx Bandits (Mandala), Sublime (Greatest Hits has the perfect mix for me), Coheed and Cambria (Good Apollo I and In Keeping Secrets), Tegan and Sara, The Dear Hunter, Dear And The Headlights.
Mmmmm acoustic/piano driven pop rock.... Maybe you can help me with some influences. Matt Costa is that; if you already haven't heard him yet. Anyways, Im lookin up what I havent heard here to see what we got. If you like the flow im feeling I suggest you take a look what I have listed.
Really depends on what kind of chill you are looking at. When I really need to focus on a book or work, I tend to listen to more ambient things: God is an Astronaut, Explosions in the Sky, Sigur Ros, The Album Leaf When I want some peace walking to class usually soft, quiet indie or alternative rock: The Shins, Coldplay, Death Cab, etc. But when I really need to think, usually acoustic, folk or Christian rock: Leeland, John Foreman, Andrew Bird, etc
65daysofstatic Coldplay Deadmau5 Eskimo Joe Imogen Heap Metric Paper Route Team Sleep Telafonica Telefon Tel Aviv The Temper Trap And that's about it, I think. Plus some various one-off songs by certain artists.
