    Seriously, it's not wrong to ask for a source. One's not being any better than the Queef posting such things...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PAEg8xHT6M https://soundcloud.com/cypheredm/linkin-park-wastelands-cypher

    Maybe something non LP related and listen to a Kingdom Hearts remixed, which ALSO appears on different promotion channels around the internet
    https://soundcloud.com/cypheredm/utada-hikaru-passion-cypher 6.000 views and still one of the less viewed but still nice songs i made

    also i have originals which reach over those views and likes
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5yvtu0aYXo My track Forever with Melissa Pixel - 17.000 Views on here and 7.000 on here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EsGum4BnyI

    Well, in all honesty, Don Gilmore's influence on their poppier sound helped them achieve their mainstream success. And the band seems to dig their older stuff now. So that I'll give props to him. :/

    On the one hand , you are right. Sources should be always there in a conversation to proof some arguments. On the other hand, Queef was disrespectful to almost everyone here in the thread so he cant blame us for being "stupid" here. Its his own fault. If he discuss in a quiet and nice tone, this dont escelated that quickly.

    Some people think their old stuff is better cause they can't accept the truth.

    There's a distinct lack of #Queef in this thread. Based Q, come back and school Cypher with your obviously superior knowledge of music production! WHERE IS QUEEF?! :timothy:

    Yeah, you've got a point, too. But I still think that one escalated too much. Even if it's just for the laughs like here, it can still really hurt the affected person...
    If Queef actually cares, who knows...

    Also I can't get my head around the fact of how much Justin Bieber has changed since I last saw him. :D
    Thanks Cypher (or Filip)!

    For what it's worth, a lot of you guys do tend to... I guess 'exaggerate' is as a good a word as any... your expertise on a lot of the more technical aspects of things. Pretty routinely. Like it's widely believe that big, grand, electronic laden production is good just for the sake of being big, grand, and electronic laden and just shit all over material too "poppy" because you unfairly believe it to require less talent. Mark The Graves is long, plodding, and is therefore good. Final Masquerade sounds "too routine", and is therefore bad. Don Gilmore do radio rock, he bad!

    ... except that a lot of the strength of old Linkin Park material is that the good song are so meticulously crafted that, though a "standard" 3 minutes long, Lying From You is a perfectly pulled off 'rap rock' song. Breaking the Habit is another example. Routine length, very poppy, no real 'risks' involved in it. But is fucking classic. And it's classic without 2 and a half minutes of superfluous bullshit mixed in. And after seeing this;

    I actually have to disagree, because for as much as I've joined in the lolfuckDon thing in the past, the 'radio perfected' Crawling on the album is infinitely better than the 'Aaaaaaaah, I hate... you so much right now!' demo with the oddly placed 'raindrops hit the rhythm on the pavement!' rap verse. The pop producer actually did, without question, improve the song by making it more "traditional". Not being 14 anymore, I think the reason I have fond memories of those albums is specifically because of their more poppier elements. Lyrics aside, the album wasn't one where everything needed to be some brooding, melodramatic bullshit. The album was indeed crafted specifically so "Little Johnny can hear it on his radio 90 times and not get sick of it", but the long and short of it is... Little Johnny did hear it 90 times and not get sick of it. There are Little Johnnys listening to it 15 years later and aren't sick of it.

    What does that have to do with my first paragraph, though? Well lets talk about the population of pro producers here.

    I have Reliving Things on iTunes. I listen to it pretty regularly, and I really enjoy it. But it doesn't sound like 12 different peoples unique and original ideas. If you told me a single person just made 12 remixes and compiled them on an album, I'd believe it. I'd have no reason not to. Every song on there sounds like a deliberate, calculated attempt to give off an "epic" feel. Every song is very heavily mixed with electronics. No song on that album is bad, every part of it is competently done. But there's no highlight on there, either. Everything blurs together and if I wasn't already familiar with the songs as different entities, I'd probably have trouble telling them apart if I listened to them in a single sitting if I wasn't looking at the tracklisting as they played. And while every song is done with some degree of talent, shouldn't have 12 completely different people had 12 completely different ideas? I didn't hear them. The Visceral album wasn't much different; not a bad song on there. But at times it sure sounded like... just a single, very long song.

    And that's kind of something that happens a lot here, people who totally know what they're talking about and can tell you everything wrong with a professional producer all just kind of like the exact same, super similar sound, and when given the chance to actually make something their own end up making material that sounds nearly identical.
