Just wanted to point out that the ending diatribe with Cena was awesome. I love the fact that he said pissed, scumbag and ass all in the same promo.

I like how Punk wasn't mad at Del Rio for cashing in the MITB briefcase, since he's benefited from it himself a few times. I also like how Cena hates that Del Rio cashed in the MITB briefcase, since he's been burned by the briefcase on more than one occasion (right?). One small thing that means I'm WAY too into this storyline: Cena is pissed because he couldn't be Punk in his hometown to retain the title, but Del Rio did it with ease (Mysterio > San Diego). Pretty funny Cena said Del Rio hasn't successfully retained the title yet, except for he just did. I guess Cena was too busy making out with Triple H the entire show.

I really don't get why all of the sudden Stephanie would try to undermine Triple H (her on and off screen husband). I've seen the theory kicked around that Stephanie did it at the behest of Vince, which would just blow my mind with stupidity if they went that way. I'm thinking it's all a swerve and Johnny Ace sent the text. Speaking of Ace.... THE FUNKMAN SPEAKS! I guess that ban on him speaking on-air that Vince laid down last week has been lifted. It's also worthy to note they trademarked "Future Endeavor" and "Mr. Future Endeavored".

Also, Joe is gonna be pissed when he watches SmackDown! this week. :D

I don't read spoilers either. I like rumors and making up shit, however. Can we keep the forum board free of spoilers? Please?

I don't agree with that, if anything they should just be clearly marked with SPOILER tags or something.

Caught Smackdown earlier, so spoilers ahead if you haven't yet...

I knew it was coming after Casey's post, but why in the name of fuck did Mark Henry have to win? I don't get how you can like him, Casey, sorry, haha. He's not over. He hasn't got over in ten years, he's sloppy and can't wrestle. He can't cut a promo and has no charisma. He was better when he was Sexual Chocolate than this shitty cliché big man who can go through anything. Nobody will ever pay to see Henry so why put him in the title picture? You would think creative would have noticed nobody gives a shit after ten years. How he still has a job I'll never know.

The opening segment with Cody & Orton was actually ok, having Cody in the title picture excites me so much more. His character has actually developed and his promo skills are getting better too. A feud with him & Orton makes sense because of the history, but no... he's stuck with a meaningless I.C title whilst Orton gets to wrestle the one person he openly said he hates to work with.

I understand that Henry has been there a looong time, and if it was based on that, then yeah he deserves some spotlight, but he's just so bad. There's a reason he's never been main event material. Ugh.

Jeff Hardy's return to TNA is imminent. They cut Matt from his contract because of his DUI, and him generally being a crazy douchebag, but Jeff gets to return while he's STILL in a felony drug trial, and has (obvious) drug issues. Good for you, TNA. You'll get everything you deserve, but it won't be what you want. I'm all for there being competition, but TNA isn't that promotion and this kind of proves it. It's just a haven for the bad WWE rejects and people that wouldn't last a minute under WWE's wellness policy. Not to mention their main program is revolving around Sting, Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair. In 2011. We're about to get a Flair/Sting match, which is probably leading to a really awful Sting/Hogan match, unless they pull a swerve, which will only piss off their couple of thousands of fans.

On the flipside, UFC cut a deal with FOX. 2012 is going to be a huge year for UFC, methinks. First match for the first FOX show is rumored to be a 5 round match between Machida and Phil Davis.

Wasn't too high on Raw last night. It was predictable, but it did a good job of pointing out johnny vice as a douche. Which isn't that hard to do... Haha

I'm still riding with the idea that Vince sent Nash to destroy Punk, since Punk costed him his job. I hope they go down the route of saying there was a bounty out on Punk's head and Nash cashed in on that big time. I think Stephanie is the red herring, considering she really hasn't done much in this entire thing besides stir the pot and play devil's advocate kind of. I can't figure out if I want Johnny Ace to be Vince's mole or just the new corporate stooge of the 21st century, just sucking up to and kissing whomever's ass to keep his job. I can't see Triple H turning heel or anything, he still gets monster face pops and wakes the otherwise somewhat dead crowd up. They don't need to risk hurting that, since Punk is only getting a good reaction in certain cities, and Cena is Cena, he'll always divide the crowd.

It's a fun angle. In another, more silly WWE universe, you could have the Kings of Wrestling back up Punk since, in Punk's mind, Triple H has Nash and Ace and whomever else he can get on payroll. They come in to protect him, blah blah. Then the New Age Outlaws return, and hey, it's just in time for Survivor Series! And Triple H is basically in charge (not just a storyline).... DO WARGAMES! By this next year, in reality, Triple H will have taken over ALL day to day operations of WWE, and obviously Vince will still be around, but it's a changing of the guard. I see no reason why Christmas can't come early and we get a WWE scale presentation/production of WarGames.

That's all just fantasy, though. No crowd is going to care about the Kings of Wrestling in that short amount of time to make this a hot angle, and I don't know about Billy Gunn & Jesse James in 2011 doing the same shit they used to do in the late 90s. Back then, they were in their 30s, and to anyone else but a kid/teenager, even that age was pushing it considering the shit they were doing. Now? They're pushing 45-50. It'd be like Ric Flair still being the suave ladies man he was in the 80s, but he's just an old, crazy orange man who's had just one too many divorces.

    I like Rob Van Dam.

Great night of fights in Rio this evening.

First off, congrats to Big Nog!

Shogun looked relaxed as all hell in his fight with Griffin, and landed a TKO victory. Guess this means a Shogun/Machida 3?

Silva can't be beat. It's not even an exaggeration at this point. I had my money on Okami, and I never, ever bet against the 'Spider'.

Gotta give Forrest props, too. It takes a lot of cajones to accept a rematch against Shogun in Brazil.

Ay! My gut was for Silva, but I would have gained more than I lost if Okami was the victor :p. Regardless, I'm a fan of both fighters.

As to Griffin's performance last night; I knew something was up with him. The guy was beat, and had legitimate excuses behind the scenes. Props to the guy for stepping up for the company despite everything.

What does everyone think the 2 fights on FOX will be? I've seen Silva/Henderson and Guida/Bendo thrown around, although some people are reallyyy wanting UFC to move the Cain/JDS match from PPV and put it on the FOX card, and cancel the PPV the week after they were supposed to headline, or replace it with something different. Personally, I think one more fight for Silva and he's going to be on the same "name" level as GSP or Brock. Those are the two guys that pull in a TON of buys on PPV with JUST them on the card. If casual fans see an exciting Silva match on FOX, they'll come back, thinking they'll get that all the time (and that's what's been promised for 2012, HUGE fights on FOX).

Pulling the main event from a PPV that happens a week after this is a dumb move, but if they find a good replacement, I don't see why they shouldn't. A UFC Heavyweight title match on free television on a NETWORK like FOX... that could mean some serious, serious business for everyone involved. Either way, this is going to be a huge deal, and they're going to focus more on this card than anything in that entire month, but it should be exciting.

I have heard a rumor that the main event could very well be Rich Franklin against Tito Ortiz, though, and it's from someone pretty reliable in the MMA internet community (he posts on a board I frequent called DVD-VR). He's rarely been wrong in the 3 years I've been posting there. I personally hope he's wrong though, that's the opposite of what you want to present to the mainstream the first time out.

I heard that Franklin-Ortiz rumor, too, and I'm not that enthusiastic about it either. I guess the matchmaking is sensible (two veterans with no real chance of being in title contention coming off of losses), but it could easily be a snoozer. Guida-Bendo would be absolutely insane, though. I'd love for the co-main event to feature one of the lighter weight classes, in any case. Something exciting to get casual viewers really hooked on MMA.

I saw someone on another forum suggest Shogun vs. Henderson, which I think would be fantastic. Silva-Hendo II would probably end up looking a lot like their first fight (Dan would not be able to resist the temptation to stand and trade leather with Anderson), so I'm not too interested in that. Plus Shogun and Henderson are two guys who I've wanted to see fight each other for a long time.

Yup, it's official: CM Punk vs. Triple H at Night of Champions. I've seen the match coming, but I did NOT see it coming this quick. Not sure what to feel on this.

They knew Kevin Nash wouldn't be able to have a match on PPV going into RAW that night, so it's not like they got cold feet halfway through. Something that happened after a physical he did for WWE changed their minds, but if it even matters now, the plan was for Punk to go over Nash. The same might happen, but I see Nash interference. There's still a chance Nash will wrestle, and I'd honestly expect that in New York at MSG at Survivor Series. But, anyway.

Weird show. Del Rio wasn't there because he was doing visa paperwork in Mexico and it wasn't done yet. He was supposed to do a match with Sin Cara (Hunico now, not Mistico), but that's most likely cancelled, unless he can make it in time.

Oh, and I guess the brand split is kind of, sorta over. It's not just Smackdown guys on Raw, it's the other way around too, from here on out. Atleast that's what PWInsider is saying, and a lot of the midcard guys are supposedly really nervous about their TV time now.

Trim the fat, I say. Lots of guys could go right now. 2000 WWF didn't need 100+ workers on their roster, and it's obvious we're moving in a direction where it's one roster, one set of champions. I hope, anyway.
