My first reply to this that I deleted was a misinterpretation of what you said here. I think I was trying to say a "like" system like Facebook has, but have it be totaly seperate from facebook. have it be an LPA only thing. in the bottom of the post "XX people like this comment" or "XX people like this post" I think that would be cool too.
I will say that there has been more than one occasion that there wasn't a "like" button (or something of that nature) on here that I wished there was.
Derek, post like button. See if you can make it happen. Separate it from Facebook. Make it LPA inclusive! You don't even have to call it a like button if it is copyrighted. That will make my day as a user! That is what I would like to see.
Not to shoot down an idea, but having an individual like button for posts is pointless. Liking a thread currently posts the topic to your wall on Facebook, and if you want to have it link to the last post in the thread, simply check the "Publish To Facebook" box when you're replying and it'll post that you have posted in a thread and post it to your wall. There's no need for extra coding, especially since said coding would likely have to be fixed everytime we upgrade vBulletin. Now if you guys are referring to a like button in the sense of boosting user reputation and showing how well liked they are on the boards, we're currently checking into similar options to see if they work with our current version of vBulletin. Can't make promises but we're checking for you guys.
No problem. The issue we're facing is that everytime we upgrade vBulletin, we run the risk of breaking the plugins we have installed if vBulletin makes a massive change. So we wan't to implement new things but there's always the chance they'll get destroyed in a month with the next upgrade .
