Where'd You Go was the final and most commercially successful single taken from the Fort Minor album, The Rising Tied. The track, released April 10th, 2006 featured guest vocals from Holly Brook and Jonah Montranga. Where'd You Go was arguably the first platform for Holly Brook to get known. She was subsequently signed and dropped by Machine Shop Recordings to then find success in 2011 as Skylar Grey.
The single reached a notable number 2 on the U.S Billboard Pop 100 and number 4 on the U.S Billboard Hot 100.
The retail single featured a radio friendly version and remixes by Brad Delson, Styles of Beyond, DJ Cheapshot and Vin Skully. There was also a promotional industry single release containing the instrumental and acapella versions of the track.
A video for the single was released and directed by Philip Andelman. The video focused on Mike performing in an empty house, and then Holly Brook and in one instance, Jonah Montranga doing the same on the chorus. The imagery resonates with the lyrics of the song; missing loved ones and feeling alone. The video culminates with a series of shots focusing on other families who are going through the same emotions expressed in the lyrics.
